Why is it that children love anything to do with dolphins so much? Even my little granddaughter, who is getting her ears pierced on her 5th birthday, has been asking me for a whole year, for dolphin children’s earrings. To the best of my knowledge, she’s never seen a dolphin. Obviously though, she’s read about them, or seen a film which featured a dolphin and she’s very much attracted to them.
Search queries such as “dolphin earrings,” “children’s dolphin jewellery” and “dolphin pendants” get a lot of hits, which means my little granddaughter is not alone in her love of dolphins.
I managed to find some dolphin earrings for her birthday and I’ve also found some very cute dolphin pendant necklaces which I’ve put on the site yesterday. It will be interesting to see how well they go.
There seems to be certain animals and insects that attract children more than others. For example, we are never asked for an echidna pendant, or children’s earrings featuring giraffes or crabs. But turtles, bees, dragonflies, ladybugs (especially!) and butterflies all rate highly in popularity in baby jewellery and children’s jewellery.
Older children and teenagers tend to like any jewellery featuring hearts. But my suspicions are, that teenagers also like dolphins.
