When my little granddaughters were born, I bought them gold baby bracelets as newborn gifts. At the time, I didn't consider sterling silver, as a traditionalist. However, after starting Baby Jewels, I realised there were far more sterling silver baby and children's jewellery items available than gold and the prices were excellent. I also fell in love with the modern styles, using colour and sparkle in baby jewellery.
With hundreds of items to choose from, I'm now expanding into gold. To date, we have some gold-filled items and have a pair of 9ct gold bunny rabbit children's earrings. We also had some tiny 3mm 9ct gold studs which sold out and I have been unable to buy again in that tiny size.
I have been negotiating with a Spanish baby jewellery manufacturing company and in the New Year, we hope to have a small range of baby bracelets and children's earrings in 14K gold. They are the sweetest jewellery I've ever seen and can't wait to get them.
But if you're in the market for some traditional gold baby jewellery, we have just received some 14K classic gold baby ID bracelets. They are delicate looking but strong, they are lightweight and beautiful. They come in a tiny 4.5 inches, with an extension for growth to 5.5 inches. The ID plate is engraveable and just big enough for a name, a loving word or a date of birth. These will not overwhelm the tiniest of wrists. I've fallen in love again...
